A: Enter your company name into the search box above and click 'SEARCH'.

Q: Our company name and/or address has changed. How do I update our listing?

A: You will need to update your information with the DLA, at this webpage, and send the change to us via our contact form.

Q: I don't have a CAGE code. Where do I get one?

A: If you are doing business with the U.S. Government to include contracts and grants, you must register at SAM. During this process you will be assigned a new CAGE Code if one doesn't already exist. Or, if you have an existing CAGE Code your information will be updated. If you are NOT doing business with the U.S. Government but require a CAGE Code to be assigned to support any Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) requirement you may Request or Update your CAGE Code. NOTE: We, www.govcagecodes.com, are simply a database that holds CAGE codes. We do not register CAGE codes nor assign them. You will have to navigate to the DLA's site.

A: Yes, if you will be receiving contracts or grants from the U.S. Government you MUST register at SAM.

Q: Who assigns and maintains CAGE Codes?

A: The DLA CAGE Program Office is the only authorized source for U.S. CAGE Codes. NOTE: We, www.govcagecodes.com, is simply a website that allows for the free searching of CAGE codes and NSN numbers. We are independent of the DLA CAGE Program Office. Feel free to send us requests to update your information on our website via our contact form.

Q: Who assigns and maintains NCAGE Codes?

A: All requests for NCAGE codes will be submitted at NSPA. NSPA will route the request, based upon the physical location of the NON-U.S. entity. Assignment and maintenance of an NCAGE is the responsibility of the NCB if they are (NATO) and Tier II Nations. Scroll to the Annex - Points of Contacts (POC) for NCAGE Matters to identify all NATO and Tier II Nations. All other entities located OUTSIDE the United States, NATO, and the Tier II Nations, will be assigned and maintained by the NSPA.

What is a CAGE code?

A CAGE code is a five digit alpha numeric identifier which is assigned to suppliers of various Governmental agencies. Basically, if your company or entity wants to do business with the Government, you must have a CAGE code. CAGE codes are also used internationally under the NATO Codification System (NCS) and are referred to as NCAGE Codes.

CAGE codes are used in many functions of Government agencies. They can be assigned to a National Stocking Number (NSN), which is another term for "part number", and thus helpful for Government buyers when sourcing supplies, parts, services, etc.. They can also be used by Contractors when bidding Government Solicitations. The Government requires that the true manufacturer name be disclosed in the Contractors' bid submission. The Contractor navigates to our site, enters the Manufacturer name into our Search, and the matching CAGE code is output. This CAGE code is then entered into the Contractors' bid submission.

If you do not have a CAGE code, you can navigate to the DLA's website to request a CAGE code.
